Located at 2807 Encinal Avenue, Hazzard’s Variety Store served the needs of kids from several parks and schools within a short bike ride, including the old Lincoln School on Central Ave., St. Philip Neri School on High St., Lincoln Park, Krusi Park, and Edison School and Playground. A great selection of candy, trading cards, Wiffle Balls, and even some toys were available here. Although Hazzard’s closed many years ago, the building is still there and current home of Lynn’s of Alameda and next door to the Versailles Pharmacy.
