Too old to lace up the cleats and face a blazing Mark Trujillo fastball but still want a chance to be a diamond hero? It’s not too late!
No, Mark can’t throw the high heater anymore but you can join he and other legendary park rat supporters of the new ARPD Park League baseball program. It’s as easy as visiting the Alameda Friends of the Parks website! By clicking on the image below, you be whisked to the secure website where you can make an online donation that goes directly to the new league. The Friends site accepts credit cards and Pay Pal. What could be easier?
100% of every donation goes to the Park League Baseball program that starting in June of this year, will provide Alameda youngsters, grades K to 5, to play baseball during the summer for FREE. Boys and girls, regardless of previous skill will don the legendary park league t-shirt and take to the field. The return of this amazing program wouldn’t be possible without support from people like you! (Hmmm. I sound like a PBS announcer during pledge week!) If you missed the First Pitch benefit Party at the Alameda Theatre and haven’t already made a donation, please take moment to do so now. The parks gave thousands of us Alameda kids the chance to enjoy sports and many other activities back in the day. Now is our chance to pay back and pay forward for the next generation.
